tiguan panoramic sunroof problems

i just purchased a 2009 Tiguan SE 4 Motion on December 30th 2011 and the Panoramic Sunroof won't always close by turning the dial. It's got a bunch of little issues I'm capable of fixing myself and the price is well below market. Im about to order a new one and was going to get a panoramic sunroof, but am not sure after reading about some of the problems that some people on the site have described (rattling, leaking etc). The one issue that scares me right now is that the panoramic sunroof is broken. However, I had a re-occurance of the same problem on the near-side only some 8 months or so later and the cost for this was £1200 + VAT - again fixed under warranty.
